An animated music video for a Jersey based Artist, Pheobe Over
Unfortunately, not all projects are meant to be! Even when they get this close to the finish line…
This was a project for a local musician that never quite made it out into the world. I was provided a character design by the talented Olivia Azura and a song.
As the original artist’s involvement was just providing an initial character sketch, this was a good problem-solving project! How do I create a music video, centered around just one character?
Going with the themes of the song, I decided to focus on the idea of the character telling the story through sung-to-camera sequences instead of trying to create further characters in another artist’s style.
Going off this concept, I storyboarded the video and began to generate background plates using a mix of text-to-image generation and rough 3D blocking.
The character animation was all done inside Moho and then brought into After Effects to be comped and edited.
I still find it a shame that this piece never got a full rollout, but it is still a project I am very proud of.
