Client: Brighter Futures (Jersey)
Project: Explainer video
Focus: Communicating impact, approach, and values clearly and sensitively
Brighter Futures is a Jersey-based charity supporting parents, families and young people who are facing complex challenges. Since 2008 they have supported over 4,000 families, benefitting more than 15,400 Islanders working closely with carers to help create lasting, positive change.
The goal of this explainer video was to clearly communicate what Brighter Futures does, who they support, and why their work matters in a way that feels warm, human and hopeful rather than clinical or institutional.
The video introduces Brighter Futures’ core approach: working alongside the main carer and providing practical tools that help families thrive. It highlights their three key focus areas:
Parent and child relationships — helping carers recognise and value their role as their child’s first and most important educator.
Well-being and positive mental health — supporting social and emotional resilience so families feel more confident engaging with the world around them.
Personal development and second-chance learning — providing skills that support progression in education, work and everyday life.
From a creative perspective, the challenge was to balance clarity with empathy. The video avoids jargon and focuses on simple, accessible language and gentle visual storytelling to ensure the message feels approachable to families, partners, and supporters alike.
This explainer is now used to help Brighter Futures:
Introduce their work to new families and referrers
Communicate their impact to funders and partners
Provide a clear, consistent overview of their services across digital channels
The result is a piece that reflects Brighter Futures’ values, supportive, empowering and future-focused, while making their work easy to understand for anyone encountering the charity for the first time.
